Work directly for a Central New Jersey based Engineering firm focusing on Water and Ecological Restoration & Preservation

Summary - Water Resource (Civil) Engineer

The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, team player who would love to work on ecosystem restoration, storm water and floodplain management, and projects that incorporate resiliency, including green infrastructure, river and stream restoration, dam removal, hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, lake restoration, flood risk management, wetlands restoration and mitigation, and coastal projects.

Job Duties:

-Preparing various engineering reports;
-Perform technical analyses and calculations (i.e., hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, channel stability, soil erosion and sediment control, geomorphic assessment, cut-fill calculations, quantities and cost estimating,, etc.);
-From time-to-time perform various construction oversight or field work activities (e.g., stream surveys and restoration, dam inspections, storm water management facilities, etc.);
-Assist with preparing project design plans, technical specifications, engineer's estimates, and complete critical-path project schedules;
-Utilize various software applications as needed;
-Working directly with staff to ensure 1) the delivery of a quality product, 2) meeting project schedules, and 3) client satisfaction;
-Working with the staff to advance the firm's reputation as an innovative organization;
-Travel to other offices, as needed


-BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, Bioenvironmental, or other related degree from an ABET accredited university
-0-5 years of applicable progressive work experience;
-Independently solve engineering problems, concerns, or conflicts and take-on a project ownership role;
-Basic to moderate experience preparing project design plans, technical specifications, engineer's estimates, and complete critical-path project schedules;
-Strong technical writing and oral communication skills;
-Possess a willingness to learn, be mentored, and develop professionally;
-Work both independently and as a key component of our team;
-Possess a valid driver's license
-Experience utilizing AutoCAD to develop design plans;
-Experience with hydrologic (HMS, HydroCAD) and hydraulic (HEC-RAS - steady and unsteady flow) modeling
-Experience utilizing GIS (for use in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling)
-Experience in Total Station and/or GPS surveying
-Willingness to perform various field work as needed to collect data, provide construction observation services, and assist in implementation of projects for our field services practice area;
-Passionate, energetic and able to apply your experience in the areas of project/program management and engineering
-Preference will be for candidates who possess a current Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate
