Description:

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage your experience in manufacturing systems and infrastructure to document processes and topology for optimization and automation efforts
  • Coordinate with operations research scientists, process SMEs, IT teams, and various other stakeholders to develop new products
  • Develop metrics and that provide data for process measurement. Identify success indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct solution assessment and validation for functional and technical specifications meeting objectives and success criteria of project
  • Review test plans and testing methodology to mitigate risks and participate in testing solutions to ensure meets functional requirements
  • Use manufacturing experience and observations to advise on optimization and automation efforts
  • Identify key stakeholders and success criteria effective change management efforts
  • Collaborate with project managers, development leads, and program manager to present resulting product to stakeholders

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPEREINCE:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience as manufacturing process engineer/analyst in context of transformation (automation, analytics, other) related efforts
  • Hands-on experience and understanding of implementations of MES and/or historian systems (OSIsoft, Aspen Tech, or others) in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to contribute meaningful, creative, critical thinking as part of agile team to complex manufacturing optimization and automation transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop quality relationships with manufacturing process subject matter experts and document complex manufacturing systems and processes
  • Ability to conduct data analysis on amounts of complex information and concisely communicate findings
  • Outstanding communication skills that enable effective project delivery and drive positive key discussions with customers, stakeholders, and developers.
  • Working knowledge of statistics
  • B.S. degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or in Materials / Ceramic Science, Industrial Systems

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a float glass or other glass manufacturing industry
  • Working knowledge and experience with robotics or edge devices applied to automation processes
  • Operations Research knowledge / Optimization
