Some roles can work virtual full-time if they are not near a Tech Hub, but that is dependent upon the needs of the position and amount of collaboration required.Job SummaryWe are a team who enrich every TV moment. We are an innovative, problem-solving product team envisioning and building an expanding Global Video Metadata platform that supports all Comcast divisions: Xfinity, NBCUniversal and Sky Group. The Content Data Services (CDS) product team manages and develops the core video metadata platform (Merlin) that powers Comcast’s vast product portfolio, including X1, Flex, Peacock, as well as the XClass and Sky Glass connected TVs. And our team is growing! We would like to invite a new-to-product-management Product Specialist to join our team, serving as an intermediary for internal and external partners to coordinate their feature needs and requests. In this role, you will learn the fundamentals of product management while working to build out metadata capabilities to support myriad partners. You will be a dedicated liaison between the CDS|Merlin team and partner product, engineering and operations teams.Job DescriptionCore ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes product management activities for several products, or one key product. Serves as a resource to other product managers, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems or may lead them on larger projects.Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management of assigned products.Gathers input to define product concepts. Justifies expenditures for products. Defines and analyzes markets.Evaluates technologies. Develops detailed product features and requirements and develops implementation plans. Participates in cross-functional teams to envision new product features.Coordinates with outside vendors and strategic partners to ensure that product initiatives are well-defined and delivered on time and within budget.Reviews pricing strategies to insure company profitability and competition in the marketplace. Performs periodic margin analysis.Makes product improvement recommendations to meet changing operational, sales and market needs.Coordinates among a wide range of cross-functional internal and external resources to ensure that products get to market per specifications, within budget and on schedule.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
