At M&T, this Senior Technology Recruiter will manage candidate development for mid to senior level technology searches and will focus on software engineering and other highly technical roles. This successful candidate must develop strong relationships with their CIO, hiring managers and other key HR and industry partners to become a trusted advisor. The Senior Technology Recruiter will generate qualified candidates for their openings through developing creative strategies to find the best talent nationally all while focusing on candidate experience. In this role, the successful candidate will source passive candidates and will manage the full candidate life cycle to rapidly produce a best-in-class slate of talent to meet and exceed their internal client’s expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of talent attraction for software engineers, architects, data developers, technology managers and other scrum related roles.

Drive our high-touch talent acquisition process by building trusted relationships with hiring managers to define open positions, create position descriptions, compensation strategies, and job requirements.

Own the recruitment life cycle from start to finish including defining your sourcing strategy, candidate outreach and interviewing, managing the candidate funnel, building a competitive offer and seeing through any necessary negotiations to an offer hired stage.

Serve as the recruitment liaison between the line of business and our internal recruitment agency for niche or other hard to fill technology positions.

Counsel hiring managers on complex compensation, relocation, & immigration matters through the guidance of Talent Acquisition & HR leadership.

Build strong and effective relationships with your HR business partners, compensation business partners, line management and employees.

Routinely provide insights into the constantly evolving technical marketplace.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and inclusion and reflects the M&T Bank brand, including our core values.

Mentor others within the department on unconventional search techniques and other recruitment activities 

Adhere to government regulations, organizational policies, and system/data integrity

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audits.

Manage special projects and ad-hoc work as assigned.

What Success Looks Like:
The Senior Technology Recruiter will work tirelessly to identify and interview strong technical talent and must have technical proficiency to appropriately evaluate software engineers and other technical talent. This Recruiter will work with a sense of urgency to see through to the offer accepted stage, will be detail oriented and organized and will see through all obligations with speed and thoroughness. The Recruiter will work with their leadership to understand recruitment priorities and will develop a strong partnership with the Technology Sourcing team which helps to build candidate pipelines. Additionally, this Recruiter will build consultative relationships with their business and will have strong communication and leadership skills.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ recruitment experience or equivalent in Technology Recruitment

3+ years of demonstrated recruitment success hiring software engineers and other technical talent

Understand IT terminology and jargon related to software engineering including how various tools and tech stacks are interrelated

Ability to manage multiple projects and engagements simultaneously
Strong sales ability, persuasion and negotiation skills including the ability to influence and drive results
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Strong decision making ability
Demonstrated ability in cold calling, name generation and networking
Proactive approach and proven ability to remain diligent on searches
Proven experience with identifying passive job seekers
Superior consultative skills and ability to influence decisions
Sound experience showing fast response time, consistency and success

Education and Experience Preferred:
Demonstrated success working at a high-end contingent or retained IT search agency
