Positions in this function identify and develop potential business opportunities and new targeted customers or groups, but do not have primary responsibility for closing sales. Establishes and cultivates strategic business relationships with key sales and market influencers, potential new customers, and related community institutions. Works closely with sales and marketing groups to translate business development strategies into specific initiatives, additional market research projects, and selling activities. Management positions in this function may work closely with finance and other functions on potential acquisitions and alliances, but that is not the primary focus of jobs in this function.

This position is full - time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 - hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 7:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* within a commutable distance (50 miles) from any UHG office. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis to identify business requirements, priorities and recommendations
  • Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
  • Compile and provide business analysis results for strategy planning and decision making
  • Coordinate with sales and operations to implement effective solutions to develop opportunities
  • Conduct research on market insights, business opportunities, industry trends, competing organizations and new technologies
  • Manage pilot project operation, project delivery and project transition within defined scope, cost and timeline
  • Create and execute project implementation plans
  • Identify, track, report and resolve critical dependency issues
  • Keep records and provide monthly reports to the management team on a regular basis
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with internal and external partners
  • Special projects & ad hoc reporting as required

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in sales or sales operations
  • 2+ years of experience in project / relationship management with Bachelor’s degree (or higher) OR 5 years of experience in project/relationship management with a High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Microsoft Word (creating, saving, formatting documents), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, copy, edit, send, navigate using tabs, and save spreadsheets), Microsoft Outlook (ability to open and send emails), and Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to create, edit, and format presentations)
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio (ability to navigate and create workflows)
  • Sales Enablement experience
  • Business Development Project Management experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within 50 miles of any UHG office with the ability to commute to the office for in-person meetings or in case of power/internet outages
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $20.77 to $36.88.
