A growing industrial company in the Northeast Philadelphia area is looking to bring on a Plant Manager to lead their plant operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of helpers, laborers, or material movers to meet the time deadlines. The Plant Manager will also be responsible to meet the standards of product unloading, handling, and loading that have been established, and to allocate human resources to achieve greatest the utilization of skill and labor. Other responsibilities include:
-Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads.
-Collaborate with workers and supervisors to solve work-related problems, and check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against work orders.
-Critical link between owners and plant operations
-Indirect responsibility for fiscal reporting to Controller through support staff
-Transmit and explain work orders to supervisors, and review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed as expected and within safety parameters.
-Evaluate supervisory and hourly employee performance, and prepare appraisal forms.
-Prepare and maintain work records, reports that include information, such as employee time, wages, daily receipts, and inspection results
-At least 7 years supervisory experience; 3-4 years direct experience on materials moving equipment
-Ability to communicate effectively with owners of company, supervisors, support staff and equipment operators
-Knowledge of safety practices and protective equipment
-Ability to read and interpret policies and information that will impact the deadlines and job performance
-Ability to effectively use calendar scheduling tools, computer generated templates for performance and documentation, and communicate work status to owners and support staff.
