Lead UI/UX Designer Job Summary:

We are looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to join a newly launched and rapidly growing e-commerce company. This role will be 100% remote. As a Lead UI/UX Designer, you will design for web, product, branding and UI/UX to support the efforts for the growing technology department and the various brands it supports.

As the ideal candidate, you are comfortable adapting to existing design systems or developing your own from scratch. You understand and create atomic (component-based) design systems and enjoy working with developers to make your designs functioning software products. You are an expert in web and product design, UI/UX, web graphics and branding. You empathize with users and use that to define, ideate, prototype and test your solutions. In support of those efforts, you have a strong attention to detail, understand wireframing, prototyping, and are fluent in the use of Figma/Sketch/XD and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Lead UI/UX Designer Responsibilities:

  • Design e-commerce storefronts, landing pages and web applications (SPAs).
  • Create branding and style guides to support web products and e-commerce.
  • Design experiences that enhance the user journey.
  • Create, expand upon and/or refine designs as needed to modify existing content or create new content, features and experiences.
  • Establish an email design system process that can be repeated across various brands to support e-commerce operations.
  • Establish an overarching design process that is repeatable and trainable.
  • Manage design-related digital assets to maintain proper access controls and security.

Lead UI/UX Designer Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience as a web or product designer, or 4+ years’ experience and a degree in web, graphic or a digital design related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience directly with web and software products.
  • 1+ years’ experience managing other designers and/or contractors.
  • Expert level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Figma/Sketch/XD.
  • Experience managing tasks in project or task management software such as Monday.com, Asana, Trello, Jira or others.
  • Ability to manage and incorporate input from various stakeholders in the design process.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complexities in the design process and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • E-commerce design and Customer Experience (CX) design experience highly preferred.
