IT Project Coordinator

My name is Bill Stevens and I have a new six month plus Information Technology Project Coordinator position for a major firm located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please review my specification below and I am available at any time to speak with you so please feel free to call me. This role will be either a hybrid schedule or if the candidate can be in Philadelphia five days a week that would be ideal as well. The project manager will also review candidates who wish to be fully remote. The firm has an onsite vaccination policy. The ideal candidate should also possess a green card or be of citizenship.

This position pays $55.00 per hour on a w-2 hourly basis or $60.00 per hour on a Corp basis. The Corp rate is for independent contractors only and not third-party firms.

Description:

The firm is one of the world’s largest publicly traded insurance companies, providing commercial and personal insurance products across the world. They provide extensive product and service offerings, broad distribution capabilities, direct-to-consumer platform partnerships, exceptional financial strength and local operations globally. They are seeking for a Program & Project Coordinator to assist with their Global Digital Program Management Office, with a primary focus on our most successful and innovative digital partner distribution programs, for a 6-month plus term. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role will work with the PMO and the firms project managers, scrum masters and product owners to ensure the program and its component projects run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring progress of projects across the program. An example is sending out status requests and deadline reminders to team members and records action items and takeaways from team meetings

Communicating updates to stakeholders, Example, contributes to program reports by preparing updates from progress gathered and communicates these out

Participates in program meetings to keep people informed

Planning meetings and organizing program logistics, Example, creates and maintains a program communications calendar, scheduling project meetings and works with the team to organize in person events

Creates and maintains program and project documentation and tools

Preparing financial reports, Example, assists the PMO Finance Manager to prepare annual budgets (including attending meetings and taking notes) and to research variances between actuals and plan

Performing other administrative duties that contribute to the overall health and efficiency of the program. Example, updating Microsoft team's planner boards, maintains stakeholder lists, assists with Teams access, file management, issues log updates, etc.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role; 3+ years of relevant experience

Excellent verbal and written communication

Strong client-facing and teamwork skills

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

High degree of attention to detail; sound organizational and time management skills

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities, ability to multi-task

Personal initiative and accountability

A pursuit of project management certification, skills and experience

Additional Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience in insurance industry or working in a digital program or on a digital project team.

A college degree. Equivalent work experience coupled with a passion for learning would be considered.

Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans

Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner

Hands-on experience with Jira agile project management software

PMP / PRINCE2 certification would be a plus only and is NOT required

Knowledge of Agile project principles or certification
