MAJOR FUNCTION: Under the direction and supervision of the Nursing Director, responsible for performing a variety of clinical functions including but not limited to specimen collection, preparation for exams, patient history collection, performing screening procedures per provider guidelines, obtaining vital signs, relaying instructions to participants, and assisting with specific practice procedures. Will also participates in clinic meetings and overall planning related to clinic business and operation.
High School Diploma or GED. Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution preferred.
Minimum of 1 year working with the frail, elderly population in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Previous successful experience with specific practice procedures including electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injections preferred.
Medical Assistant Certification required.
Must possess a current CPR certification.
