What you will be doing

Under the general direction of the SVP, Enterprise Data & Analytics oversees strategy, guidance, oversight, and performance of Metadata, Data Quality, and Technical Data Architecture across the enterprise. Responsibilities include establishing the governance and quality standards for the organization 's data management and ensures compliance across the enterprise. The scope of enterprise data governance includes all business unit level data domains (e.g., Distribution, Finance, Accounting, Sales, Marketing, etc) and all global data domains ( e.g., GP, Customer, Product, Manufacturer etc). Responsibilities of the position include establishing policies and procedures, implementing tools and techniques, providing training and support, conducting data quality audits, developing data validation procedures, providing end user help and guidance, and ensuring overall data governance. Timing and degree of focus across the domains will be guided by the work of the Enterprise Data & Analytics, also under the direction of the SVP, Enterprise Data & Analytics.

  • Oversees Enterprise Data management & Governance Term definition and methodology
  • Manages the life cycle of Data Domains from inception to production
  • Oversee and govern the upstream and down-stream data modifications & deployment processes and procedures
  • Owns the data policy communication across business units & IT
  • Develop and execute data quality and data audit processes & procedures
  • Manages Data Policy & standards development, data domain business architecture, & refresh 1st Line standards compliance & measurement
  • Manages Data portion of SDLC & initiative development methodology.
  • Provides support to data projects to meet standards
  • Manages ABC global data domains, definitions, and KPIs
  • Collaborates between business and IT to ensure proper application of data governance policies and alignment of strategic priorities
  • Provides guidance, tools and resources to promote data governance and alignment
  • Strengthens accountability and alignment throughout the full data lifecycle through design and implementation of information policy, controls and guidance
  • Supports functional/segment-based information & data handling situations
  • Engages Business Unit Data domain owners to ensure cascading governance and alignment

What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)

Should have experience managing Master Data Management programs, including data profiling, sourcing, and quality program experience. Experience with MDM tool suites including configuration. Proven track record of delivering customer-centric master data management across a complex portfolio of customers.

  • MS in Computer and Information Sciences or Data Sciences or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience with data, ideally with previous governance or quality experience
  • Minimum 4+ years in data management role
  • Industry experience in (pharmaceutical) wholesale, healthcare, life sciences, CPG and/or financial services preferred
  • Experience in implementing global data management solutions and BIG 4 consulting experience is a PLUS.
  • Must have a detailed data management skillset including data governance, standards management, data structures, modeling, and complex data relationships (including structured & unstructured data)


  • Strong leadership experience in an enterprise or cross-functional role
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; interacts with all levels of associates and management within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships with ability to engage resources outside of direct-control to gain consensus, meet deadlines and achieve goals and objectives
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes and technology
  • Understanding of sales, finance, warehousing, and/or purchasing concepts and how they inter-relate
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams of business, DBS, and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple things at one time
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
  • High energy with a positive outlook and experience as a change agent
  • Self starter/motivator, goal oriented
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Strong knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Project, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook
