If you are a Software Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Our office is based in our Berkeley, CA location (note: this role allows for remote work!), you will write new features and maintain the code base for the Real-Time Modeling System simulation and scheduling platform for clients using our in-house discrete event simulation software. This is a hands-on development role working across all our .NET release platforms: desktop application, web application, and Windows services.  We need a developer who can switch gears and jump between platforms as well as tasks to meet our product, bugs, and feature priorities. In this role, you will be responsible for the code you write: build a new feature, fix its bugs, make it better, repeat. This role interacts closely with our professional services team to support our existing clients on bugs and new features. Additional responsibilities include testing new features/enhancements, participating in architecture sessions with our senior engineers, and creating documentation for the software. 

AS A Sr. SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 

  • Deliver features and bug fixes across our product line.
  • Work with professional services to understand client needs and develop features/solutions.
  • Work with the software development team to architect new solutions.
  • Test new product features and enhancements.
  • Write documentation for the software.
  • Assist professional services with client issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
  • 6  years of .NET and C# development experience
  • Work experience on a shipped multi-version revenue generating product
  • Demonstrated proficiency in .NET for both desktop and web.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to quality
  • Ability to devise solutions to problems independently
  • Excellent communication skills and strong time management
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Experience with DevExpress Libraries
  • Experience with non-Microsoft SQL databases
  • Experience with developing Windows services
