The Senior Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance role performs various key financial analyses for Drug Company distribution center operations as well as generates revenue reports for the sales & business unit functions. This role provides financial reporting to management to ensure revenues and expenses are monitored and operational issues relative to finance are highlighted and addressed. Senior Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance is responsible for uncovering key purchasing attributes, behavioral characteristics and performance indicators across the SPS customer portfolio.

Position is located at either of our corporate offices based in Conshohocken, PA or Carrollton, TX (hybrid on/off site flexibility included)

Day to day overview of position responsibilities: 

  • Performs commercial deal modeling and analytics for new customer and renewal negotiations

  • Responsible for providing advanced financial modeling and analytical support to Sales, Finance, and other business teams in regards to Business, Customer and Industry trends.

  • Performs monthly and quarterly detailed analysis of customer and segment performance to identify key indicators.

  • Implementation of findings that drive market share growth and margin expansion.

  • Actively participates in sales and profitability reporting to senior leaders in Finance and Sales.

  • Develops and manages tools to facilitate pricing execution and measure effectiveness to meet defined goals / objectives.

  • Ownership for quantification and impact analysis of existing or proposed pricing policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

  • Collaborates with Sales, Finance and Sourcing teams in the development and preparation of performance forecasts, projections, and plans; based upon numerous variables and data assumptions.

  • Models, analyzes and measures the design, execution and ongoing effectiveness of commercial value programs; ensuring alignment with defined purchase behaviors and desired outcomes.

  • Owns and supports initiatives geared toward streamlining current processes, creating new processes and using new technologies and systems.

  • Acts as a "super user" of financial and other analytical tools such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SQL, MS Power BI, SAP, MS Access, Hyperion, Financial Data Mart, and SalesForce.

What your background should look like:

  • Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, finance accountancy, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program; BA/BS in Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred

  • Normally requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience applying advanced financial analysis techniques to business problems

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

  • Basic knowledge of MS SQL
