Experis, a ManpowerGroup company has an exciting contract opportunity for a Pharmacology Scientist - I (Assistant). This position is a 6-month contract for one of our key clients, a big Healthcare company.

Position: Pharmacology Scientist - I (Assistant) / Scientist

Location: West Point, PA 19486

Duration: 12 Months

Description:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • BS in Pharmacology or a related discipline (Biochemistry, Biology etc.)

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in the development and execution of in vitro pharmacology assays
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Be able to work independently, strong leadership skills
  • Ability to execute within a matrixed organization Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Experience performing ligand binding assays
  • Experience handling radioactivity

Responsibilities:

  • Translational Imaging is responsible for discovery, development, qualification and deployment novel in vivo imaging biomarkers to impact pipeline decisions in preclinical discovery through clinical proof-of-concept at Merck Research Laboratories.
  • TIB is looking for a scientist with experience in pharmacology and biochemistry research experience including ligand binding assay in support of the discovery and qualification of novel alpha-synclein imaging agents for treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease.

The individual will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and perform in vitro radioligand binding assays, including autoradiography and tissue homogenate binding assays in human, non-human primate, and rodent brain tissues to assess the binding characteristics of candidate alpha-synuclein radioligands
  • Prepare samples and, reagents, maintain equipment, track of laboratory consumables. Utilize molecular pharmacology and imaging techniques to assess in vitro, ex vivo, distribution, and specificity of lead compounds and imaging candidates
  • Analyze results from radioligand binding assays using MCID and/or Prism software
  • Enter experiments to electric notebooks and present experimental results at group meetings and project meetings
