Summary of Position:

The Manager/Senior Manager, Accounting, is primarily responsible for assisting with Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, the monthly financial close, technical accounting and the external reporting process.

Position Responsibilities (which include the essential functions):

• Preparation of SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures and supporting documents
• Review the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, EITF, and SEC, and communicate impact to management
• Assist with certain technical accounting matters, including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of transactions, adoption of new standards, as well as general corporate accounting matters.
• Assist with preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for the monthly financial close
• Support the development and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
• Assist with the quarterly financial review and year-end financial audit process
• Financial and management reporting
• Assist with specific projects and initiatives (e.g., system upgrades, process improvements)

Candidate Requirements:

• BS in Accounting; CPA required
• 7+ years of prior related accounting experience
• Previous experience in public accounting required and small- to mid-sized public biotech and/or pharmaceutical company preferred
• Proficient computer skills; extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Relevant accounting experience: stock-based compensation, inventory, business combinations, debt and equity financings
• Demonstrated experience with process improvements
• Resourceful and capable of managing to target deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to build consensus and work well with a small finance team
