Ainsley Search Group is hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Global OEM Company located in Montgomery County. This Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and support the Life cycle of new product development, product testing, formulate testing plans, FEA, modify design, support prototyping process and support commercialization process. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with lucrative compensation and benefit, in addition, the company would like to develop this individual to become the Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Manager in the near future.


  • Report to the R&D Director and collaborate with Account Manager, Product Manager, Customers, Operations, and suppliers to oversee life cycle of new product development from conceptual design, testing, prototyping, to commercialization.
  • Conduct 3D Modeling, Solidworks, Rendering, Engineering Drawing using CAD software, generate product drawing and specifications for products and components, process engineering change requests, updating engineering documents and drawings as needed.
  • Support R&D Process, formulate and implement test plan, support outsourced test process with suppliers, FEA and document test result on designs for speed control unit, safety components, motion control components, etc.
  • Generate and document product design specification, develop product requirements, engineering documents, project logs, test reports, instruction manuals, and design evaluation.
  • Develop test methods and test plan for new product, review test equipment, support field test with clients, labs, etc.
  • Prepare reports on the status of product testing and analysis of results based on NPI specifications.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Manager, Production, Supply Chain, Quality team to ensure smooth transition to manufacturing from product design & development.
  • Create BOM based on product specifications and design, evaluate and test materials to ensure materials meets product specifications.
  • Research and evaluate supplier capacities, ensure supplier manufacturing process (die casting, forging, machining, molding, injection molding) meets parts specifications and quality standard.
  • Research vendors and suppliers based on material, tooling and capital requirement for new design, support sourcing, qualifying and on-boarding new vendors/suppliers for new product.
  • Support start of production on new product, oversee product process and document manufacturing process for new product, oversee final testing on new products to ensure tolerance and quality are met.
  • Provide on-going support on new product application, testing, quality, manufacturing process (assembly), etc.; collect customer feedback and research, modify and re-design product, support process optimization and promote lean manufacturing process for improvement and cost saving.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to customers, production, quality, suppliers, identity root cause on process or design issues, drive CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Electro-Mechanical or related engineering field, higher education desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of tenure as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Design Engineer for New Product Development within Manufacturing and OEM industries.
  • Solid experience in leading and managing full life cycle of product development from design, drawing, prototype to commercialization, solid exposure to manufacturing process involving die casting, forging, machining, molding, plastics, etc.
  • solid knowledge with Solidworks and 3D CAD systems: hands-on design experience in 3D Modeling and rendering
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to apply creative and innovative thinking to meet market demand.
  • Hands-on project management and leadership skill, outside of box thinker, proactive problem-solver.
  • Excellent people and communication skills, ability to influence people, ability to provide hands-on training and guidance to cross functional team.
  • Aspiration to become Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager or related Leadership level.
