Summary:

The Tekni-Plex Information Technology team is seeking a summer intern to support the implementation of new and existing analytics tools. They will do so by documenting and organizing SQL databases to support these applications. During your 12 weeks in this role, you will actively participate in all aspects of the Information Technology department. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering data cube requirements to support global manufacturing analytics. This role will identify, catalog and assist in engineering the data cubes to support such information. This will be done by researching and cataloging existing queries and tables to be used in the build. This role will also assist with other IT tasks as assigned. You will report to the Senior Manager, IT, and will work closely with Tekni-Plex IT department staff.

  • Database structure and organization in a complex IT environment
  • The role, and use, of analytical tools, and the skills necessary to implement them
  • How database design directly impacts reporting capabilities
  • SQL skills in a corporate IT environment
  • IT reporting tools and how they can be leveraged to deliver key analytics across a myriad of systems, something many of today's companies must deal with

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:

  • Current pursuit of a full-time undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Mathematics or other related degree
  • Demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity, and a results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Acute attention to detail with strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in SQL computer language
  • Strong motivation and work ethic and the ability to work independently, ability to balance multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Candidates must pass a background check and drug test prior to hiring
  • Candidates should be able to work in the United States with no restrictions
