Description
Our client, an established construction company, that has been renovating and restoring homes in Princeton and the surrounding communities for over 35 years, wants to add an experienced interior designer to manage the Sales Process from qualifying prospects through handoff to the Project Manager.
What you will do
Work with a team of craftsmen to convert an owner’s idea or vision into a reality that they will love for as long as they are in their home.
Qualify leads to determine which are bona fide prospects and then spending time with a new prospect to discover their needs.
Perform the design work required to develop a proposal and work with the estimating team to develop the budget.
Prepare the proposal, present it to the prospect, and close the deal by converting the prospect into a client.
Prepare the contracts for signing including any payment schedules and meet with the client to get them signed.
Prepare the job book and manage the hand off of the client to the assigned Project Manager.
Work with prospects and clients to design and scope their remodeling plans that do not require architecture and where there are no outside designers/architects involved on the project.
Support outside designers/architects on those projects in which they are involved.
What you need to bring
4-7 years of relevant interior design experience that includes extensive residential construction knowledge and experience especially in remodeling.
Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with prospect and clients.
Skilled at listening to and understand information and ideas presented, as well as communicating information and ideas orally and in writing.
Ability to interpret/read plans, develop scopes of work, estimate construction costs, materials and fixtures.
Familiar with design and construction project software such as Chief Architect and Timberline
Ability to create concepts for owner’s approval.
Working towards NCIDQ certification would be a plus.
