Network Engineer I

Primary Location – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Network Engineer I for our premier client in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . This is a 8 months contract position in the telecommunications industry .

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

Some of the specific technologies utilized:

• Headend/Hub HFC Optics
• Cisco/Arista/Juniper Networks
• Ciena/Nokia Transport Networks
• CommScope (Arris) / Cisco iCMTS
• DAA vCMTS / RPHY
• Linux/Microsoft Servers

Top three MUST HAVE skill sets (technical) that are required:

• Headend RF/Ethernet/Optical Network Installation & Troubleshooting
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel/SharePoint/Outlook/Etc.)
• Datacenter Technician Installation/Configuration/Troubleshooting

Top three PREFERRED skill sets (technical):

• Microsoft Visio
• Firm understanding of DOCSIS and Video Networks
• Proficiency in Optical Networks (CWDM/DWDM)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Routine maintenance and reporting of on-site Critical Infrastructure metrics (Power/Space/Cooling)
• Daily physical installation and maintenance support of Labs in Center City Philadelphia
• Understanding and troubleshooting complex development networks including CRAN/NDC/DAA/HFC Video and Cloud.
• Remote Hands support for RF Testing networks and various development technologies
