Description: Our client is currently seeking Hearing Officers 

Looking for free-lance or part-time Hearing Officers. They would like to have them in Philly, Boston, NYC, Chicago, DC and LA.
Candidates could be a semi-retired Lawyers, Arbitrators, Paralegals, Police Officers, Judges, HR Manager,etc. 
Will be paid by the hearing (still working on the rate). 
For now the hearings are all remote. 
The hearings are typically Labor Relations/Disciplinary situations between Company and the Employee (represented by Union). 
The hearing officer will hear all the testimony, ask questions and render a recommendation or decision. 
They are essentially a "Judge" in a discipline case for Company. 
Position Summary 
The incumbent is responsible for conducting disciplinary investigations. The Officer will also have the responsibility to hold hearings. The Hearing Officer is solely responsible for determining the guilt or innocence of employees formally charged with misconduct under procedures established pursuant to the relevant collective bargaining agreement as they may apply. 
Essential Functions 
Ability to work independently and ensure disciplinary investigations is held within appropriate timelines and is consistent in their decisions. Must be able to travel and hold disciplinary investigations within defined geographic locations. Must be able to analyze information presented in a transcript and write a clear succinct decision based on the facts presented. Must be able to travel as required to conduct disciplinary investigations and/or must be able to conduct the hearings remotely such as Teams. 
Minimum Qualifications 
•Demonstrated ability to conduct disciplinary investigations in a fair and impartial manner. 
•Must have thorough understanding of collective bargaining agreements as they pertain to the disciplinary investigation process. 
•Ability to travel as throughout assigned territory if necessary.
Minimum KSAs 
•At least three years experience as Hearing Officer or similar experience in a position with Labor Relations, Human Resources, or Equal Employment Opportnity. 
•Handle high volume of cases within time constraints. Excellent time management. Ability to work as needed and travel. 
•Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of management. 
Preferred 
•At least 5 years experience as a Hearing Officer or similar experience in a position with Labor Relations, Human Resources, or Equal Employment Opportunity. 
 Work Environment 
 •Handles cases with various associated time constraints depending on collective bargaining agreement and the nature of individual cases. This requires real time management of cases to ensure proper scheduling of cases. 
 •May require extended hours on any given day of assigned work, will require a steady focus on scheduling and decision time lines.
