This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am – 4:30pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 1818 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
  • Perform outreach and educating members on services they are eligible for
  • Work on creating and managing outreach with educational materials, including getting approvals for communications
  • Outbound calls to members
  • Manage medical record information related to services members receive, this can include requesting medical records and reviewing for pertinent information and recording information

This is high volume, customer service environment. You’ll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create, edit, save documents), Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • A clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Experience working in a call center
