Major, Lindsey & Africa has an immediate need for a Bankruptcy Litigation Paralegal in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities include:

Bankruptcy Tasks

  • Familiarity with Bankruptcy Court dockets and motions
  • Ability to identify client-oriented motions in bankruptcy cases
  • Prepare standard bankruptcy forms, motions, and pleadings etc.
  • Ability to file and serve on Pacer or otherwise.
  • 1600 billable hours

Litigation Tasks

  • Ability to manage dockets and file pleadings in state and federal court pleadings in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assists in preparing for trial.
  • Prepares exhibits and exhibit indexing for trial, maintaining exhibits for orderly retrieval and use.
  • Prepares motions and court filings other than for extreme complex legal issues.
  • Has experience and knowledge of e-discovery, the EDRM, and experience using e-discovery software.
  • Checks citations in briefs for compliance with The Bluebook Uniform System of Citation and court rules, etc.
  • Assists with propounding and responding to written discovery requests, preparing documents for production, and preparing subpoenas for documents.

Qualifications Include:

  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Experience with complex litigation
  • Bankruptcy experience is required
  • Capable of mentoring a junior paralegal in the office
